Our billet oil pump backing plate is precision made to race tolerances and designed to be a direct replacement for the factory backing plate.
It is the perfect upgrade to go alongside Toyota 2JZ Oil Pump Gears.
Designed to suit a Toyota 2JZ Oil Pump.
These backing plates are cut from solid billet steel, providing improved oil pump life with better oil delivery clean of trapped air and foam. We utilise a three-side grinding to produce backing plates that are flat within 0.0001”.
All HSE oil pump gears & backing plates now go through isotropic polishing for stress-free, smooth running.
To-date, we have manufactured thousands of oil pump backing plates, many of them being installed in 1000+ horsepower vehicles.
High Speed Engineering billet oil pump gears and backing plates greatly reduce the chances of oil pump failure, which when fail, can cause massive amounts of damage very quickly to pistons, valves and camshafts.

Description
It is the engine builders responsibility to ensure that all components are clean, undamaged and free running BEFORE and AFTER installation.
Gears and backing plates must be assembled initially with clean engine oil or assembly grease. Do NOT run dry!
These backing plates are direct replacements for standard backing plates. If something doesn’t fit easily, then something isn’t right. You should not have to modify the housing and once installed, the gears should spin freely, with no restriction other than the oil seal.
